GOGROOVE SONAVERSE UBR DESKTOP SOUNDBAR SPEAKER

I try to limit the number of things I have sitting on my desk as best I can, but if you follow us on Instagram, you probably saw just how messy my desk can get. So, I’m always tweaking my desk’s layout to try to optimize space usage as best I can. While we mostly game with a headset while we’re at our desks, sometimes we’ll play the less-intensive games with our headsets off, using just our desktop speakers for sound. Also, we watch a LOT of trailers and short videos daily, so we don’t always like to take the time to put our headphones on.

Now, we’ve got an even better way to do that with the
GoGroove SonaVERSE UBR Desktop Soundbar.

There are two main reasons to think about picking up the the GoGroove Soundbar Speaker. First, it helps to declutter your desk by being designed to sit under your monitor (for my setup, it sits on my monitor stand). Second, it has an angled design so that sound is directed upward and not at your chest.

The soundbar measures 16.5 inches long by 2.8 inches wide and just 2.2 inches tall. It’s powered via USB and connects to the mic and speaker 3.5mm output on the back of your PC. On the front of the speaker, you’ll find two pass-through jacks for both a mic and a headset, so you’ll never have to fumble with the back of your PC to plug in an aux headset ever again. The speaker also has a backlit volume dial on the front so you can easily turn up/down the volume as needed.

I’ll also note that it’s much more satisfying to have a physical volume dial that you can turn than to just use the multimedia buttons on your keyboard.

Sound quality is good, and I’m surprised there isn’t a tinny quality to them. In fact, sounds are surprisingly rich, and even at louder volumes, there’s no distortion. You shouldn’t expect this type of quality sound for $29.99, but that’s part of what makes them such a good option for small desks.

The speaker is available in four colorways: black and grey, black and blue, blackout, and white and grey — each of which look great, thanks to the speaker’s modern design.
